The growing case of Covid 19 has raised concerns among the public as to whether Rakar will re-impose a lockdown. However, the government has denied the allegations, saying "these are just rumors." On Tuesday, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said the lockdown would not be implemented in the country again.

He said there was no need to implement a lockdown in the country at present. Along with the states where the cases of corona have come more, the focus is being on the areas i.e. containment zones. He further added that the power to impose lockdown on Corona cases has been vested in the state governments and local authorities.

Another government official also said that if the case escalates in a particular area, village or city of a state, a few days lockdown could be applied to the same area. For example, Madhya Pradesh has decided to close the markets every Sunday and UP every Saturday and Sunday. Maharashtra has declared a lockdown in Pune.

According to information received, the central government is instructing the state governments to take active control over the areas where cases are on the rise, otherwise the impact could be felt elsewhere and the cases could escalate. If the situation does not change even after that, the states can implement lockdown in that area.
